Friends Spring Newsletter 12 March 2003 Dear Friend, Gate Opening Ceremony Sunday 20 April 2003 at 2.00 pm. You are invited to attend the ceremony to unveil our second set of wrought iron gates designed by Southsea blacksmith, Peter Clutterbuck. The ceremony will be performed by Roger Young, Parks Technical Officer of Portsmouth City Council. An Easter Egg Hunt will also be held for the children. This year's Friends of the Porter's Garden AGM will be held 7.30 pm on Thursday 8 May 2003 at Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust in the dockyard. All are welcome to come along. RSVP for your names to be included on the security list. A visit to Exbury Gardens and Cadland Gardens on Sunday 11 May 2003 is arranged. Meet at Exbury, near Beaulieu just 20 mins from Junction 2 of the M27 at 10.00 am and bring a picnic for lunch at Cadlands at 1.30 pm. Admission to Exbury is £5.00 adults, £3.00 children, £4.50 for seniors or parties of 15 or over. There is no charge for the visit to Cadland Gardens by kind invitation of Gilly Drummond. Our Annual Garden Party will take place on 22 June 2003 from 2.00 pm until 4.00 pm. There will be a strawberry tea with music and there will be a modest charge to attend the event.
